History

Jenesis International Inc. was founded in 1999 by the senior new product design team from Heath Zenith. While at Heath Zenith they developed their marketing and product engineering expertise as they led the development and expansion of that business. The team brought new features and products into motion sensing market which accelerated growth and dominated competitors while expanding the category beyond traditional flood lighting, to other light types, decorative fixture and even indoor products. We also founded the wireless chime line which quickly outsold competitors and a wide range of inexpensive imports. We also applied our expertise to a wide range of other wireless controls and products, some of which are still in production today even after over 25 years in production.

After highly successful careers with Heath Zenith the senior new product design team consisting of Brad Jensen, Kim McCavit, and Roger Bentley left the company to found Jenesis International Inc. in Stevensville Michigan. The company started by contracting our senior electrical engineering skills for companies developing new products, while also speculatively exploring new emerging product categories with patent and patent licensing opportunities. These speculative projects have led to the development and key patents in several highly successful product areas including electronic flickering wax candles and battery operated flickering window candles.

In 2006 the company purchased a building in nearby Benton Harbor Michigan to accommodate continued growth. The new building was completely gutted and remodeled inside with offices for many new employees.

Currently Jenesis International Inc. core business model is much the same as it was when it started in 1999 but with the primary emphasis placed on patent licensing and a secondary emphasis on contract engineering.
